Big Boy School!

Big boy school, and I mean proper school! We went tonight for Legs’ ‘new parents evening’ at his brand new school for September! Yep, he is growing up fast!

It started off with a lovely welcome into the school hall, with school dinners on offer (not school dinners like I remember them, but proper nicely cooked on site dinners), I had a nibble of potato wedges and some salad, whilst Daddy had some chicken curry and Rice, followed by chocolate shortcake, his verdict? That the school dinners were fab!

They went on to tell us all about the school, the uniform, the classes, how things will work. The whole time they were talking all I could think is ‘Legs is going to love it!’ We then did the obligatory form filling before heading off to visit his new classroom and teacher. Well I hope first impressions are correct as she seemed lovely and the teaching space was fab too!

Legs is really going to love it. He is totally ready for School, he has been doing preschool at a school since September, we have never had a problem with him settling in, he has loved learning from the word go and I know he will be fine this September too!  It is Mummy who may have a problem, my baby is going to school, sensibly I know it is right, I know he will love it and know that it will be good for him, but ‘I don’t wanna!!!’ (okay tantrum over!!).

Legs enjoy every minute, you will bloom, Mummy will be fine when she sees you smiling too!

What about my baby, she is talking about her baby going to school! You just have to enjoy every minute. I wish I had written down some of the things you said when you came home from school, I am sure you will and share them with us all. Be brave “baby” and be proud. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Exciting times, they change, mostly good, some not so (language in particular!) but embrace and enjoy with him x

How exciting! What a lovely post. Starting school is a distant memory for me now (well, youngest is in Year 1). My boy is starting big school in September too -REALLY big school! I’m pretty nervous about that – dropping him into an enormous building containing 1,500 teenagers and nobody to tell him what to do and where to go!

Another important milestone. My son goes to Big Big School ( he is 11) this time and the feelings are very much the same.
