Birthday Help!

In a little over a weeks time we have a week of two very special birthdays, on the 23rd March, our oldest ‘Legs’ will turn 3 followed three days later by ‘Mouse’ turning 1.

Now luckily we have the present side sorted but unfortunately after over a month of illness and some financial restraints due to me coming to the end of my maternity leave we haven’t planned anything to actually celebrate.

We have decided against parties for their friends as there just isn’t enough time, but we are hoping to still make the days special!

So this is where the help from you comes in, please leave suggestions of what we can do to make the days special for our two littlies!

When my eldest turned 4 I felt with very few friends and her age a party wasn’t the way to go so we invited 1 friends and had a tea party in the lounge. We laid out a rug and made tiny sandwiches and cake and biscuits etc (all handmade ad they are cheaper) we did biscuit decorating after lunch (with digestives) and they had a hr playing then settled down with a DVD. Was a really lovely and memorable birthday and cost very little at all. U cud play some party games too little musical statues etc for a funny half hr and a pass the parcel with unplayed with toys

For our little ones’ birthdays so far, we’ve had a family day out. There’s no rule that says you have to have a party etc, you can make your own celebration or traditions. Perhaps start the day if a bit of a special breakfast (cooked breakfast at home or enroute to day out?) and then do something that the kids and you will love. Zoo, farm… or even a couple of activities, finishing off with their favourite tea and cake. Got to have cake!

If you have a pottery cafe nearby, why not capture their hands or feet on a plate as a memento of their birthday. I know mine love going to do this and you could paint a pot for them to have a ‘play’ whilst you’re there.

Shall have a think of some more ideas x

Do you know my pal invited a couple of other families to join them at the swimming baths and they just shared a homemade ake and juice in the cafe after which went down a treat x
