Country Kids – A White Christmas

It happened! Well ok, a day late but it happened!

On the evening of boxing day, the Mouse was heard shouting ‘it’s snowing’, the three adults in the living room thought it was part of the game the children were playing; ‘thats cool mouse – make sure you wrap up’.  Then Mouse shouts ‘Noooooo, it is REALLY snowing!’

Up I jump and I see the biggest snowflakes I think I have ever seen, they were literally and inch, possibly an inch and a half wide. It was beautiful and it felt like the white christmas had arrived, albeit a day after Christmas.

The following morning we were woken up to shreeches of ‘it’s still here!!’. So that meant one thing; hats, coats, scarves and an adventure in the snow. IMG_2553

We had loads of fun, throwing snowballs, making footprints in fresh snow and just running around as fast as we could. IMG_2581

The kids sat down and explored, they touched, sat on and threw the snow about. There was no one else out to play so we had the whole green of fresh snow to make our mark on, we even made snow angels!IMG_2592

But most of all we just had fun, took in the beautiful view, explored nature and got cold. The hot chocolate with squirty cream was very welcome when we got home! IMG_2550 Country Kids from Coombe Mill Family Farm Holidays Cornwall

I am so jealous! It is 4 years since we saw snow here in cornwall and I really miss it, my kids are growing up so fast and can hardly remember what it feels like to play in snow. It looks quite magical and such fun from your photos, I hope we get some before winter is through. thank you for sharing your snow fun on Country Kids

When we went to Bristol my son is really crossed cuz we cant afford for him to go to the skating rink. I really wished that we had snow here so that my son can play on ice for free!

Everything is so pretty and so nice to see happy faces of your kids playing with the snow =)

Wow – that looks so much fun!! I grew up with snow most years as a child in the South East but the South West where I am now is snow deprived and my children are desperate to see some and play in it!!

Wow, that’s good snow! We too had the big fat snowflakes but they didn’t stick, partly disappointed, partly delighted about that. Great pictures!

I can’t believe how much you had – we had none at all! It certainly looks like you made the most of it and had a great time!
