It happened! Well ok, a day late but it happened!
On the evening of boxing day, the Mouse was heard shouting ‘it’s snowing’, the three adults in the living room thought it was part of the game the children were playing; ‘thats cool mouse – make sure you wrap up’. Then Mouse shouts ‘Noooooo, it is REALLY snowing!’
Up I jump and I see the biggest snowflakes I think I have ever seen, they were literally and inch, possibly an inch and a half wide. It was beautiful and it felt like the white christmas had arrived, albeit a day after Christmas.
The following morning we were woken up to shreeches of ‘it’s still here!!’. So that meant one thing; hats, coats, scarves and an adventure in the snow.
We had loads of fun, throwing snowballs, making footprints in fresh snow and just running around as fast as we could.
The kids sat down and explored, they touched, sat on and threw the snow about. There was no one else out to play so we had the whole green of fresh snow to make our mark on, we even made snow angels!
But most of all we just had fun, took in the beautiful view, explored nature and got cold. The hot chocolate with squirty cream was very welcome when we got home!
