I headed into the centre of Nottingham to meet up with some other bloggers for the #MidsBlogMeet. The meet was organised by the very two lovely ladies Emma from Frugally Peachy and Kelly from To Become Mum and it was fab, they did a great job!
It was held at The Malt Cross in Nottingham city centre. The Malt Cross is a cafe-bar with a lovely atmosphere. The building is amazing and I noticed that they support charitable outreach. It had a warm welcoming feel and it looked beautiful. On top of this the food was amazing (More on that in a second).
Having checked out their website, it seems like there is a lot of history in the place and that they have a lot of things on for people to enjoy!
So the day started with a chance to meet and chat with some of the other attendees; it was a really chilled out atmosphere, any nerves I had (mainly through running late as volunteering didn’t finish on time!) vanished instantly.
The lunch time buffet put on by the venue was Amazing. I may have had one too many cheese and chutney rolls, but when it tastes that lovely, why shouldn’t you treat yourself! I did also drool a little when some of the food ordered by other customers direct from the menu passed me, all the food, looked and smelled delicious!
The schedule for the day was very laid back, there were lots of opportunities to chat and I found time to talk about a town I used to live in with a blogger who lives there now – reminiscing is always fun!
Some brands had sponsored the event and there were competitions running throughout the day. I came away with a Poddle Pod, which you will hear more about in another post.
There was an extra treat in store for us when two very nice ladies from the Nottingham Branch of Body Shop visited us with a display of some of there products. They included some brand new products for us to look at, touch, smell and generally gush over.
They have a range of blueberry products that I found delightful and I have to say I was really impressed with the Hair chalk. The hair chalk looks a bit like an eyeshadow pot, you simply apply, hair spray and brush and you have temporary colour in blue or pink. We were all a little sceptical, but once seeing what an effect it had on hair (even darker colours) we were hooked!
To end the day we were sent on our way with a goody bag that contained some lovely items from Weleda, Sweeties from Swizzels Matlow, a scottie dog chocolate mould from Baked by Me and a fab recipe book!
It was a brilliant day and I have met new people to chat to on Twitter and new blogs to follow, it was a lovely way to spend a few hours on a Saturday and I look forward to the next one (hint hint at Emma and Kelly!)
