Mike the Knight at Warwick Castle

We had a very special day out a couple of weekends ago, we were invited to Warwick castle to watch the Brand New Mike the Knight film, join in some activities and to meet the man himself. Screen Shot 2014-09-25 at 13.34.14

Warwick Castle is a the perfect backdrop for a Mike the Knight day, after all knights need a castle don’t they. We started out in the Coach House restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious Jam tart tea break before we headed through to a private showing of the ‘Journey to Dragon Mountain’ Mike the Knight Film. Warwick Castle East Front

It was brilliant, it is approximately a hour long and both Monkey and Mouse sat through it all, in fact Monkey barely moved he was so glued to it and as soon as we got home he wanted to watch it again!

“Glendragon is in danger! When the King returns from faraway lands, he discovers that the Vikings have stolen a treasured crystal jewel from the dragon of Dragon Mountain. It is the King’s mission to return the jewel and Mike’s job to help him.”

After we had watched toe film we went off to meet Mike, he is appearing at Warwick castle and there is still time to see (but be quick, he finishes this weekend!)

Monkey and Mouse loved meeting him, it was nice to see Mouse approach him as last year she wasn’t  that keen (she didn’t like any characters, it wasn’t anything against Mike).20140913_122828

We were encouraged to have our photos taken with him and (pleasantly) the queues were not massive and you got to meet Mile quickly. Here is my #dragonselfie20140913_124825

We spent the rest of the day exploring the castle grounds, taking part in knightly activities, watching the birds of prey show, taking lots of photos and seeing a great finale show of the trebuchet working. Both Monkey and Mouse had the best day ever, Monkey’s favourite bit was the Dragons in the film and the fireball (not surprisingly) and Mouse loved the rose garden and the Knightly play area! mtkWhat's Happened? What's Happening?

  1. This sounds like a fab event! We are big fans of Warwick Castle.

  2. Sounds like a fab film for little ones and a wonderful place for a day out!
