Every now and again Me and Mouse have a girlie afternoon, the boys go to the park and play basketball, or ride bikes and Mouse and I go shopping, or curl up and watch a film!
A couple of weekends ago the boys were out and us girls decided to get the sleeping bags out, pop a DVD in and eat pizza!
The DVD we chose was ‘Shrek the Musical’ which features the highly acclaimed Broadway production (based on the book and film we all know and love). We both love the film but I wasn’t sure how the stage show would compare.
“Featuring a fantastic score of 17 all-new songs, Shrek The Musical was filmed live on stage with 10 cameras and directed by Michael Warren who flawlessly captured the magic of a Broadway performance starring an amazing celebrated cast including Brian d’Arcy James (Shrek), Sutton Foster (Fiona), Daniel Breaker (Donkey), Christopher Sieber (Lord Farquaad), and John Tartaglia (Pinocchio).”
We settled down with our snacks and pressed play. It was fab. The show followed the story from the film as closely as it could and was brought to life with colours, songs and a general feel good factor! Mouse (who is 3) followed the story and recognised it from the film. She loved it and got up to have a dance along too.
We had a lovely girlie night and it was great to have a DVD that was suitable for Mouse and myself to enjoy together. We watched, sang along and laughed.
It is out on DVD and Blu-ray and if you like Shrek and like musicals – this is definitely for you!
