The Sleepy Train – Book Review

We had another book delivery from Parragon and it was lovely to come back from our break to new reading material!

“Driver’s engine, clean and smart, Whistle blows, it’s time to start, Wheels are turning, lights aglow, ‘All aboard, and off we go!’ Join Bear and his friends on the cozy little Sleepy Train as it sets off on a magical night-time journey… all the way to the Land of Nod! This soothing story by Mark Marshall is the perfect ticket for bedtime!”

As soon as Monkey saw the book he shouted ‘awesome a train book!’ (so much for teaching him to not judge a book by it’s cover!).  Mouse was happy to sit with him as it had animals too and Granny read it the first time to them both.

They both sat snuggled up, fixed to the book the whole way through. They were smiling as the story went and they wanted to read it again straight away!  It is a real ‘cutesy’ story that is perfect for bedtime, you feel as you are drifting with the characters, and you are certainly ready for the land of Nod by the end.

The illustrations are lovely (and this is really important to us!) and add a lot to the story. Another winner for my two, they are insisting it is here to stay; I think we are going to need a bigger bookshelf for my little book worms!

Judging by the cover this would be right up Monkey’s train tracks!
