What’s the Story?

It is my time of year for reminiscing a lot about my time as Mummy to Monkey and Mouse. The reason being because their birthdays are next week, which of course reminds me of how they are growing up (far too quickly).

When Monkey was 19 months old and I was 4 months pregnant with Mouse, we had a ‘staycation’, we took a week off work and childcare and did various day trips.  It was our last ‘holiday’ as a three before becoming a family off four. We loved it, exploring different places but always returning to our own comfy beds (meaning Monkey still got a good nights sleep!).

This photo was taken on our trip to Sundown Adventure Land, a theme park aimed at younger children.  It is somewhere I went to as a child and really wanted to take Monkey too! There is loads to see and do and Monkey loved it; we got loads of awesome photos of him with various nursery rhyme characters, in the stocks and on rides.

This is one of my favourite though, Monkey was in such a high five stage and he wanted to high five everyone he met – oh and we had to too!

Looking at the pictures has made me smile, in fact I think it might be time to introduce Mouse to the adventure!

  1. What a great post and a brilliant photo! The timing is absolutely spot on. You should definitely introduce Mouse to it! Must have been great to do a staycation and plan lots of things to do. It is a time of reminiscing when they’re birthdays come up, seem to grow so so fast! Many happy returns for next week #whatsthestory

  2. Staycations are fab, it’s great to just get out and explore what is on your doorstep. I always find myself in a very reflective mood around my children’s birthdays, it’s always bittersweet to see them getting bigger.

  3. I thought that was Sundown – we have been a few times and I remember it from when I was a child. It is sad that they seem to grow up so quick isn’t it – I always find birthdays a strange time. Hope they both have great birthdays and you can focus on the great adventures to come!

  4. They do grow up so fast. This sounds like such a fun place to visit. Sounds similar to a place we went to when we were younger with storybook themes everywhere. Maybe it was the same place!

  5. Such a cute picture, I love the little pig, he would look cute on a garden gate 🙂

  6. What a lovely photo, it looks a great place to visit.

  7. Bless him, that’s such a cute capture. Hope they both have lovely birthdays
