What’s the story?

So, what’s the story behind this photo?plaitThe short story is that I had a haircut!

The slightly longer version is….this. Today Mouse and I had a girlie afternoon and went for haircuts. I get very nervous about having a hair cut (this dates back years and is a story for another time).

I was having regular haircuts done by a lady I trusted, but we moved and I eventually stopped travelling back to see her. I didn’t find a new one, well to be honest, I didn’t look for a new one! So this has led to approximately 4 years without a cut.

Hubby’s cousin did try, but I was so nervous that I think I made her nervous and she gave me a very (lovely) small trim around the edges.  So fast forward to today, Mouse wanted a haircut and I needed one, so we decided to use her birthday as an opportunity to have girlie time!

I was browsing the internet one day and found an added motivation! The Little Princess Trust. They supply real-hair wigs to children for free and they accept donated hair. So that is what I decided I would do.

I didn’t tell many people, I wasn’t sure if I would chicken out! But I did it, today I had a fair few inches of hair chopped off and it is packaged up to send off. To top it all off with a smile, the hair cut wasn’t that traumatic either!  hairback

Wow what a change! A great motivation to have a hair cut though – well done!

    1. It really was, I would never have had that much off without the motivation from donating! 🙂

Looks great and how fab that you’ve donated your hair too. My hair is really long and I wonder about doing this, but I know from experience that I can’t rock a short hair style!

    1. Thank you. 🙂

I came across that website a couple of weeks ago too, and was amazed at the lengths of hair people have donated and what a great cause it is!
I love your new look too well done!

    1. Thank you, the shock has worn off now and I am starting to love the shortness!

Oh wow what an incredible story! The new haircut looks awesome too, making me think I should get mine lopped off again (it’s not as long though). Such a great idea, what a fabulous thing to do. Thank you so much for sharing #whatsthestory
