BrainBox ABC Game Review

As a family we love anything that can bring us together. Games are a massive part of our life, we play together, against each other, to learn, for fun, to pass time, to bond or a mixture of all of the above!

This week we have sat down with the BrainBox ABC Game. It is aimed at 5 years plus which is perfect for Monkey. Mouse played too, being only three she did need a few pointers, but not to the detriment of the game (even Monkey helped her a little!).

The game is simple to play, you take a card and study the picture for ten seconds – using the timer, then roll the dice and answer the corresponding question on the back of the card; roll a two answer number 2!

The questions are observational, so may ask how many of something, colour, anything about things on the front of the card!  When you get a question right, you keep the card! Each card has a letter from the alphabet on it and the pictures all start with that letter!

You only play each game for ten minutes, whoever has collected the most cards, wins! As soon as we finish one game, the kids want to play again – they love it!  Mouse loves the letters as it reminds her of her letter of the week at playgroup. Monkey thinks it is brilliant, the letter help him remember what is on the card!

A great game for learning and remembering letters! It develops observation, memory and language skills – all vital, but even more vital is that it is fun and a real asset to out Family Time!

The best thing about this game is that it is good for playing together or alone (there are instructions to do this), it can help learning, can be played for fun, helps pass time and fill in Boredom spots – perfect for what we like!

We are definitely looking at the rest of the range of the BrainBox Games!

This looks like a great game, I’ve seen them around for a while and love the square boxes. Love that it can be played alone or together and that it encourages learning but is still fun.

Love their games, I won the Dinosaur Game a while ago, Monkey is too young to play it properly, but he loves looking at all the different dinosaurs. Lots of learning potential – sounds fab

I like a game that they can play on their own, only having one has its drawbacks!
