Country Kids

When I was working full time one of the things I missed was the School Run, I know many people think I am mad and I am under no false impression that the school run is easy, I just always wanted to be the one to drop them off in the morning and be the first to hear about their day.

Now I am part time, I get to do two days of school runs a week, It is tough as it means a lot of walking as Hubby has the car for work but we try to make it fun, to keep our minds off how far we are going – especially when me and mouse do the 40 minute walk to pick up Monkey.

The fresh air is something I am not used to getting a lot of but it does us good and I see it all as real bonding time.

One of the games we play a version of ‘We went to the Shops’ (the game you each add something to the list and you take turns recalling them), but we say ‘We went to school and we saw….’.

So what do we see on the school run, We went to school and we saw…

I am really enjoying our walks to school, we see so much, we notice new things daily and we have fun!

That sounds like great fun. We only have a 5 minutes walk but there’s still lots to explore on the way #CountryKids

I can see how you would miss this working full time. Lovely photos and times to cherish together. Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids

What a sweet post, makes me miss walking my daughter to school which we did for two years in Brooklyn. But now we’re in the country too with no sidewalks so it’s not possible to walk safely. But it’s so nice when you can. I love those morning photos and your fun game.

I don’t think you are mad at all! Yes it can be a pain when you are battling the wind and rain but I love taking E to school and being the one there to pick him up!
