Country Kids

This week has had a lot of ‘up’ moments, Monkey got his medal at football, followed by a good work award at school and to top it all off he ditched the stabilisers on his bike!!

Growing up much?! I think so!

We decided to head to the park today, of course we took the bikes. We were there for a good couple of hours, we had an awesome time and I think we squashed a whole lot of fun!

The first thing we did was watch Monkey have a little ride on his bike, he was still a little nervous but gave us a great show, the best thing about it was the smile on his face, we are so proud of our little man!

We then hit the park, the swings, the slide, the springy surfboard, the ‘gym’, well everything! We had another milestone today too; the Mouse did the monkey bars…..all on her own!

I think Mouse had approximately 70 goes on the zip line (maybe a slight exaggeration, but only a slight one), she is so brave, she just jumps on and goes, she looks so little on it but her smile says it all!

The afternoon ended with an impromptu footy match between Daddy and Monkey and some other children they didn’t know and then Monkey riding his bike all the way back to the car.  Mouse was also able to balance on her own for a few seconds on her bike (without stabilisers!) when daddy let go, she so wants to be like her big brother!

It was an awesome day in the fresh air with smiles all round, we were all incredible chilled out when we got home and treated ourselves to an ice lolly!!

What a week and What a day!

Monkey has done so much to make you proud this week! It’s the simple trips out, like a few hours in the park that are sometiimes the best, it sounds like you had some wonderful family time.

He really has, we are always proud of him, but these moments give us a chance to remind him! It was family time we all needed I think!

Sounds like a great week for Monkey, so many achievements and well done Mouse on the monkey bars – I could never do them but Miss M loves them – obviously doesn’t take after me.

The monkey bars scare me a little (whether I am on them or watching them).

Well done Monkey – and I love the fact he has no helmet and his sister on the slide does!
