Last night Daddy went out, so I settled down with Monkey and Mouse for film night. We were lucky enough to have been sent a brand new Movie to watch; Maya The Bee – due for release on DVD and digital Download on Monday 8th February 2016.
The Monkey and Mouse were very excited to settle down with Maya Masks, teddies and a bowl of popcorn, they were even keen to get pyjamas on for a real chill out session! All there of us snuggled up and got ready to see what Maya would get up to!
“Maya, is a busy little bee, ready to leave her hive and live in the meadow. The world is just too big and too fascinating to remain confined to the restricted life of the hive. But soon Maya realises that a bigger challenge beckons and that together with her friend Willy, she must return and save their hive from the greedy queen’s advisor and end the long-term hostility between bees and hornets. Join Maya and her friends, as they set off on their “un-bee-lievable” adventures.”
Maya is such a cute little character; she reminds me a lot of Mouse – very bouncy and energetic, loving and fun. Mouse wants adventures and so does Maya! The kids were glued to the DVD from the start, surprisingly so – I thought that Monkey would get bored very easily as Ii thought he would be a little old for it – but he didn’t!This Maya the Bee is based on a hit TV series from the 1970s of the same name and there is currently a TV series on Tiny Pop. I am not old enough to remember the original but I love the fact that this cartoon has some history!
The animation is fantastic, just looking at it makes you feel lovely, add this to a really nice story and it is a fantastic film to watch. The kids were happy throughout, they got cross at the ‘baddie’ (the mean advisor bee) and got involved in the story guessing what would happen next and saying what they would do. Apparently Monkey and Mouse were ‘Maya and Willie for the evening!), they were getting into it so much that they got closer and closer to the TV.When the Movie finished Mouse said “can we watch it again?!” When I reminded her it was now bedtime she said “what about tomorrow then?!”.
They really did love it; telling daddy it was ‘Brilliant’ and ‘outstanding’ – they even found Maya on the TV today to watch her!
