Parragon Books – The Carrot Cake Catastrophe – Review

The kids and I recently made a carrot cake, it was lovely and we really enjoy baking together. A few days after a new book arrived from Parragon – The Carrot Cake Cake Catastrophe.  The kids couldn’t wait to have a read! 9781472331977

Now I know you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover but this one has a wonderful illustration of the main character making a carrot cake, it is well drawn and very colourful! It does draw you to want to read it.

Jenny Rabbit and her Grand-dad are trying to make a cake for Mummy’s birthday, they run into a few bumps in the road, there is a mix up in ingredients and things go a little stray!

It is a beautifully written story, easy to read and easy to follow. Both Monkey and Mouse have enjoyed it and we have read it several times already.

A lovely bonus is that in the back of the book there is a recipe for carrot cake, the kids can’t wait to make their own version from their own book!

Parragon have definitely done it again with another great book!
