Pidy Pastry – A Review

You know I love to bake and make, but there is one thing I haven’t tried doing from scratch and that is Pastry. Not sure why but I already feel like it would be a challenge too far and I shouldn’t push my luck!

This week we have tried a couple of products from the Pidy range. Pidy have been around for sixty three years and are mainly known in the catering and foodservice industries, but are now expanding into the home. They have a range of puff pastry, short crust, fonçage dough and choux pastry ready to fill cases.before

We were sent some pastry shells and some shortcrust Tartlets. Each box contained twelve and they taste good.I ate a couple without putting any filling in, just to makes sure they were tasty and they were. We did the pastry shells with cream cheese with sweetcorn and cucumber and a couple with sour cream and chive!

We moved onto the tartlets, we kept them simple so the children could taste too. We opted for Jam, Lemon Curd, Peanut butter and a cream cheese and grape (the last one was for mummy). They were delicious.filled

These ready to fill cases are fantastic, the size of them means they are perfect for children as well as adults.  I can definitely see us buying these for a buffet, party or for a treat. We may get a little more adventurous with the fillings next time too!

I have also seen that Pidy have canapé cups that come in four flavours (beetroot, carrot, spinach and celeriac) coming to the range too! They are colourful which probably comes from the 30% real vegetable juice extract and no E numbers or artificial colours they are made from.

I can’t wait to try them!Retail range

Thanks to food PR agency CLIP Creative and PR for the samples

These look great – we bought ingredients today and are trying our Pidy samples tomorrow. They look fantastic for social events so we are going to test them on family tomorrow and see what they think!

They look yummy. I have been wondering what to fill mine with.

These look really easy and effective and something that would impress if I was having a get together.

Some great, simple ideas there. They are so handy for parties and things too aren’t they as they are so quick to prepare.

These all look lovely, we have some to try too, but we’re just not home much this week – next week!

These look really great, I’m firmly of the opinion that life is too short to make pastry so these are a great alternative
