Spooky Crafts from Baker Ross

October is a time for spooky crafts, Halloween is around the corner and seems to be a topic of conversation for a lot of children. Baker Ross has a range of crafts that will suit this time of year.

Monkey and Mouse literally could not wait to have a go at creating a hat with the Top Hat Craft Kits; there are three sets in the kit so they decided on one each for them and one for Granny as a birthday hat!  There are clear instructions on how to assemble the hats. Monkey and Mouse decorated away and they were very happy with the results; there is all sorts on the hats including stickers, feathers, sparkly gems and even milk bottle tops!

We also used the Day of the Dead Foam Stickers to decorate them! The kids loved the stickers, they do have a very Halloween feel but at the same time, they are so brightly coloured that they can be used for any craft activity. The set includes Skulls, guitars, maracas and hearts in the pack – all with great patterns on them – so good I even wanted to craft with them!20150925_171036

Monkey couldn’t wait to get stuck into the Monkey Stained Glass Decorations  (maybe something to do with the name!).  Each pack includes pre-cut card templates, cellophane sheets and ribbon (for hanging). You simply glue pieces of the cellophane to the back of the monkey, add ribbon and then hang on a window to get the stained glass effect.

It is a really nice craft to bring bright colours and a warm feeling to the house on the cooler night. Easy to do and looks really pretty, I know some might not want pretty at this time of the year but I am sure you can use darker colours of cellophane to make them spooky!

Finally we have the Scratched Art Haunted House , I remember doing a similar scratch art when I was a child and I loved it, so I am pleased to see that this still exists. So simple but so enjoyable. You have a black template of a house and you use a plastic stick to scratch patterns into it, where ever you scratch turns silver and the effect is fantastic.

We don’t really do Halloween but we do love crafts and these crafts are all something that we would do again. Baker Ross crafts are so versatile they can be used for all occasions and also for those days of no occasions and you just want to create some fun!
